Generation W is an ever growing and enthusiastic community that embraces the guiding tenets of education, inspiration, and connection and the power of women's leadership in the service of building community. Generation W includes four key elements: Generation W, Generation wow, Generation works, and the best-selling book and accompanying curriculum, "wowsdom! The girl's guide to the positive and the possible." See schedule o for additional activities/events:generation W's signature event is a catalyst for connecting and inspiring changemakers, business leaders and entrepreneurs, innovators and influencers. Drawing a national audience, Generation W is a day-long experience that creates greater awareness and understanding of the relevant and resonant issues of the day and identifies the action steps available to affect change. This life changing event was hosted on april 5th, 2019 at the university of north Florida with more than 1300 attendees from 26 states. With the overarching theme of transformation, it inspired personal and professional growth while also building community at the business, local and national level. Generation works is an annual dedicated day of service that celebrates the women who lead our community's non-profit, educational and advocacy efforts. We call it the "soul work" of a community. Inclusive of all, Generation works drives immediate, measurable community impact. Every year, hundreds of volunteers join forces across jacksonville and the northeast Florida communities, wielding weapons of mass construction to wire, weld, wash and work their magic to elevate and transform local schools and agencies. On february 2nd, 2019, nearly 400 volunteers created positive and sustainable change in the heart of jacksonville at 14 non-profit agencies including five duval county public schools. Generation works and its partners continued their valued work that yields ongoing and sustainable dividends to all who participate. Generation wow is girl inspired movement that exposes girls to the positive and the possible by creating opportunities for learning, inspiration, and mentor connections with women leaders. To date, Generation wow has reached thousands of girls across the country through its comprehensive platform that includes: ayear-round social and emotional learning (sel) curriculum, national leadership events, wow clubs, quarterly events, learning excursions, dedicated mentorship, and community service projects. In 2019, Generation wow's two half-day events, in jacksonville and orlando, fl invited more than 1500 girls from more than 60 high schools to participate and learn from mentors in their communities. "wowsdom! The girl's guide to the positive and the possible unites the wow of girls with the wisdom of women. Using the power of authentic storytelling, wowsdom! Provides encouragement and offers real-world advice to help young women and girls prepare to meet the challenges they will face in their lifetimes. The messages of self-love, resilience, leadership, healthy choices and more, resonate with all ages and backgrounds and are designed to inspire readers by reminding them that they are not alone in this world. The letters and lessons in wowsdom! Serve as the foundation for the wowsdom! Curriculum that is currently utilized in wow clubs across the country.
