Gale Force Education fosters opportunities for students, educators, and the public to explore a future powered by renewable energy through materials development, training, and student-centered events. From January to March 2022, Gale Force Education held eight virtual workshops open to teachers all over the United States, funded by the Create Consortium based at Madison Area Technical College. Using their online challenge platform, they also held virtual activities for kids.

Program areas at Gale Force Education

Jan - march 2023 began to execute a confirmation of a very large grant from njeda to begin working on offshore wind energy Education in nj in 2023. This involved a large team of educators writing curricula, advisory boards and other programs using our online challenge platform we held virtual kidwind competitions for students in a variety of locations around the us. We held the third annual kidwind simulation challenge with our partners at white boxlearning. Over 980 students participated in this virtual event. Started planning the 2023 recharge academy - the recharge academy is a once a year teacher training event where up to 80 teachers learn about renewable energy and the opportunities it provides. Recharge will be in atlantic city, nj this year with significant funding from njeda. Started planning the 2023 national kidwind challenge held in boulder, co. Executed over 20 regional kidwind challenges around the us. Executed 15 educator workshops across the us in addition to a variety of virtual training sessions.april - june 2023 supported our partners in many states as they executed in person or regional kidwindchallenge events. Continued to plan and execute 2023 national kidwind challenge. Continued to plan our in person 2023 recharge academy. Held the 2023 national kidwind challenge. Read the details here. This culminating event featured the top performing teams from all over the us. We launched new challenges in offshore floating wind, hydropower and solar.july -sept 2023 we held the 2023 recharge academy in atlantic city, md . Details here. Over 80 teachers from nj and all over the us were involved in a week-long training on renewable energy and offshore wind energy. . Started planning for the 2023-22 kidwind challenge season. Continued work on the njeda offshore wind energy curricula. Oct - december 2023 launched our 2024 virtual workshop series for educators funded by create. Continued work on the 2024 kidwind simulation challenge. Continued planning on 2024 online and virtual kidwind challenges. Held our second kidwind training and challenge in three locations in mexico. Continued work on the njeda offshore wind energy curricula.
