Program areas at FODPL

For 70+ years, Friends of the Dallas Public Library serves as the non-profit supporting the Dallas Public Library. This support includes the librarys 30 branch locations, 400+ member staff along with hundreds of programs and services. In 2021-2022, FoDPL funded programs including English Language Learning (ELL) classes, GED preparation classes and GED Testing Scholarships, early childhood literacy instruction, SMART Summer programs as well as some capital expenditures. In FY 2022, thousands of adults participated in free classes at the Dallas Public Library, funded by FODPL.
