Program areas at Friends of Coronado Historic Site

During 2014, the Friends of Coronado continued in its goal to provide a deeper appreciation and understanding of the archaeology, history, culture and art of the pueblo, hispanic, and anglo cultures through programs, lectures, field trips and workshops for the Friends; membership and the general public. Related goals of the Friends organization are to have programs of broad interest, to increase membership in the organization and visitation to the Coronado Historic Site, and provide funds for both. 2014 accomplishments are as follows: eight lectures on the history and culture of new mexico were held. Each lecture had an average attendance of 79 individuals. Seven field trips were taken to various culturally and hsitorically significant sites throughout new mexico. Fchs presented the ninth annual fiesta of cultures. The event was attended by over 1,000 visitors and volunteers. Increased onganization memebership by 16% in 2014. Provided over 9.200 volunteer hours with an estimated value of 414,000 to the Coronado Historic Site.
