The dance program develops a person physically, artistically, intellectually, emotionally, and socially. Throughout the year, the Ymca offers a variety of art classes for children to experience a variety of art mediums such as painting, drawing, mosaics, ceramics, and sculpting. Ymca youth sports programs we have developed several types of sports programs such as gymnastics, basketball and soccer. Our sports programs emphasize development of skill, health and fitness, safety, cooperation, values, self-esteem, and respect for others. The objective is to establish a practice that will benefit the individual over their life-time. We had over 700 youth participate in our programs.
Performing arts are a great way to increase a child's flexibility, range of motion, physical strength and stamina. The repetitive movements involved in dance can improve muscle tone, correct poor posture, increase balance and coordination and improve overall cardiovascular health,.
