Program areas at Foundation for Madison's Public Schools

The Foundation creates permanent endowment funds and non-endowed funds to support educational opportunities in Madison's Public Schools and provides support to Schools to raise funds for their programs, projects, and students. Community Schools offers a suite of interconnected services that may include tutoring, early childhood learning support, mentoring, mental health services, food access, and recreation and arts activities.

The community partnerships program supports the identification and development of partnerships between Schools in the madison metropolitan school district (mmsd) with local businesses and other organizations. A principal experience is an annual event that provides a wide variety of community leaders with a hands-on opportunity to experience the rewards as well as the challenges mmsd principals, teachers, and students face on a daily basis. Our community has a strong history of involvement in our Schools as businesses, organizations, and others devote themselves to helping our students achieve academically and grow through personal enrichment. Our successful adopt-a-school program creates and builds upon these community partnerships in unique ways tailored to the individual school and the specific interests of the community partner.
