Program areas at Foundation for Impact on Literacy and Learning
The explore.act.tell. Educational program builds leadership and citizenship in the students' communities by encouraging students to become aware of hunger insecurity, implement a project to help with hunger needs in their community, and share their results by creating a presentation or video. A student challenge provides the opportunity to receive a grant to be passed on to a 501c3 organization working to relieve hunger insecurity. The program serves students in grades 6-12 in 15 states in the u.s.
Kid witness news (kwn) is a global student team video production competition operated by panasonic's japan headquarters. Fill collaborates with panasonic north america to help create kwn program resources and to implement the program. Students follow the educational process of: researching, thinking, planning, and producing as to create their video entry. Winning teams from the u.s. Compete with students from other countries in a kwn global summit and are awarded prizes.
Panasonic north america student eco citizenship project is a collaboration between the Foundation for Impact on Literacy and Learning and panasonic north america corporation. The project guides students through lessons on environmental issues and engages students to study environmental issues in their community. Teachers guide students through the lessons and help them to develop solutions that are recorded in a student team eco picture diary. Three winning teams are chosen and are rewarded with prizes from panasonic. The lessons and project-based Learning curriculum advance student's skills in communication, Literacy, research, and writing.
Fill has created the help our teachers fund to provide assistance with purchasing necessary suppplies and resources for their classroom.
