Innovationexcelined's innovation program focuses on next generation learning models and preparing students for success after graduation through workforce-aligned college and career pathways. in 2018, excelined expanded its career and technical Education playbook series to include practical guidance on better aligning educational workforce programs with labor demand and mid- to high-wage jobs. An advisory council of leading businesses in the it industry was convened to address the it and computer science skills gap. Excelined also published a policy guide for states transitioning to student-centered learning models, including topics such as moving beyond seat-time.

Opportunityexcelined's opportunity program seeks to expand educational choice to families by allowing them to choose the best educational fit for their children, both within and outside of the traditional school system. Opportunity policies include open enrollment, public charter schools, vouchers, tax-credit scholarships and Education scholarship accounts. Excelined launched the opportunity learning hub in 2018, a video series to break down complex school choice topics, which achieved more than 600,000 views. Excelined also profiled research on 100 private Education choice programs and published charter school case studies and policy guidance.

Qualityexcelined's quality program supports states with technical expertise that focuses on improving the fundamentals critical to the success of students, teachers and schools and includes policy areas such as early literacy, school accountability, assessments, and student-centered Education funding. in 2018, excelined convened the k-3 reading network which grew to fifteen states, explored the state-specific impact of early literacy policy, hosted an a-f school grading communications workshop, participated in multiple state accountability technical advisory committees, produced toolkits on developing next-generation school report cards and published a white paper on Education funding.
