Program areas at Foothills Community Foundation
Fcf's desert Foothills theater provides award winning Community theater productions, providing adult, youth and multi-generation offerings. Education programs in dance, song, drama and stagecraft provide a pool of young talent in addition to the life skills and team participation skills that are taught and needed for everyday living. Dft performs for over 10,000 each year.
Life long learning's business purpose is to provide lifelong learning opportunities to all members of our Community through interaction with knowledgable sources willing to enrich others lives. Using the holland Community center as the base of operations, life long learning will provide lectures, talks, demonstrations and excursions, each with content focused on a specific subject matter aligned with mission and purpose.
Fcf provides leadership and coordination for the nonprofits in our region. We bring Community leaders together to look to the future by facilitating a Community needs assessment across the region and follow up the response to the data gathered. Traditionally, fcf has incubated or housed programming needs in the area resulting in spin off nonprofits providing much needed services. This continues with the programs we currently house and new programs being developed through fiscal sponsorship (for example kachina's place). Holland Community center (hcc) is a multi-generational Community center providing programming, event and meeting spaces for the Community. Usage is over 30,000.
Desert hills leadership academy's mission is to educate, energize, and engage emerging leaders with a goal of enriching Community life while responsibly mapping our future and sustaining our natural resources for generations to come. All of this is done through a focus on strengthening participants understanding of the past, current, and future potential of the sonoran desert Foothills. Desert awareness committee (dac) provides education about the sonoran desert to the public through lectures, hikes, and conservation. Dac's desert research program teaches 4th graders in local schools about our desert and conservation.
