Program areas at Foothill Unity Center

Food services: the center provided services consisting of weekly supplemental distribution of food including fresh meat, bread and milk, fruits and vegetables for our client families. We provided monthly food deliveries to 626 seniors and disabled families, distributed thanksgiving dinner food boxes to 820 families, and distributed 1,084 holiday food boxes with new toys and clothing for children. We provided bagged lunches and meals to 4,558 homeless men, women, and children.

Health services: the center provided children with dental screenings. The mobile dental clinic administered comprehensive dental treatment for 94 adults and children including 1798 individual procedures. 275 eye exams and eyeglasses were provided for adults and children. Children's health connections (chc) program with 27 professional healthcare volunteers provided free health care for un/underinsured children. The center enrolled children and adults for healthy families/medi-cal coverage through the affordable care act initiative, administered flu vaccines to 29 clients, provided diabetes and blood pressure screenings, assisted in smoking cessation for clients, and provided medical office visits to homeless and uninsured clients through our medical outreach program. Client services: the center provided services to meet basic needs of our families. Our back to school event provided children with school supplies, clothing, haircuts and more to help prepare them to return to school with pride and confidence. We provided shelter with motel vouchers, linked families to permanent housing through move in assistance, eviction prevention, and referral to other agencies. Provided income tax assistance to individuals, generating resources back into the local community. Oversee work experience program for adults, youth and senior trainees.
