Program areas at Food Action
Farm to School program - Strengthens sustainable local and regional food communities across Washington State through promotion, enhancement and support of school purchasing of Washington-grown food. The USDA farm to school program supports regional efforts to increase school procurement of Washington-grown food in targeted counties.
Other programs include general education and outreach to the public, organiation represetnation committees including Food Action representation on National Center for Appropriate Technology Advisory Services, WA State Univisertys Center for Sustainable Ag and Natural Resrouces Committee, WSUs Small Farm Team Advisory Committee and WSUs CARET representation
WA Food System Roundable - established to develop and ensure stewardship of a 25-year vision for the Washington food system to provide a forum for effective and true collaboration among Washington food system sectors.
