Program areas at Focus
Waiver-a program of intergrated support which refers to the battery of services provided to the individual consumer through the medicaid waiver program. This usually means hiring an implementer, or one-on-one worker, who will provide direct care and assist the consumer to meet their annual goals and objectives. They may teach the consumer to budget his/her money, to shop, to do laundry, to cook, to do household maintenance tasks, or whatever the consumer requires. They often assist the consumer to participate in fun activities like basketball, bowling, community events, etc.
-supportive employment-assisting individuals with disabilities (mental or physical) with obtaining and maintaining employment through job coaching or person-centered approaches.
-adult development-day activity programs operated by Focus, Inc. They are licensed, partially funded and monitored by the state of Arkansas. The purpose of the programs is to assist adults with disabilities to grow and learn.
-transportation-a program to provide transportation for our children and adult programs both to and from Focus facilities in order to allow participants to receive the services they need. -autism waiver-a program to provide intensive, evidence-based intervention for 20-30 hours per week in the homes (and communities) of young children with autism.
