Program areas at Florida Sids Alliance
Education and exhibitions relating to safe sleep for infants and or the training of instructors or providers of education to families around the state of Florida with workshops at hospitals, healthy start coalitions, and pre-hospital providers. Support of families identified through these classes by our "peer contact" network, online support groups, informational website, or face to face contact.
Printing of informational cards and distribution of mobile crib to needy families across the state to help promote the "safe sleep" message as well as teach the parents and caregivers methods to prevent suffocation and asphyxiation in the infant under the age of 6 months. Purchase of books to be given out at lectures, health fairs, and through classes sponsored by the healthy start coalition to promote early reading and reinforcement of the safe sleep message.
