Program areas at Flight Nine Academy
The organization raised funds that were provided to historically black colleges and universities to help balance the differences in athletic funding between hbcu's and other colleges and universities. These resources helped narrow the disparity between the seemingly unlimited funding, sponsors and alumni support that drives division i schools versus the limited resources that plague historically black colleges and universities' athletic programs.in 2022, hbcu heroes continued efforts to decrease gaps with the tech and educational divides, create digital & career opportunities, and inspire gen-z hbcu-ers as they become the next leaders of the world. We ran the "secure the bag career fest" series where we created and hosted a monthly career fest series. Over 200 industry experts from tech, finance, entertainment, healthcare and sports taught professional development sessions to over 5,000 hbcu participants, free of charge, with topics ranging from networking, interview skills, resume writing, polishing online profies, etc.
