Description
Figure Skating in Harlem empowers girls of color to enhance their lives through increased confidence, leadership skills, and academic achievement. The organization combines education with the artistic discipline of figure skating, making it the only one of its kind in the world. In FY22, Figure Skating in Harlem worked hard to return to pre-pandemic levels of service, serving 143 girls through our core I Can Excel (ICE) program. Our services also extend to Detroit, where we offer the same ICE program. Additionally, we expanded our program offerings to meet more girls' needs.

Program areas at Figure Skating in Harlem

In FY22, Figure Skating in Harlem worked to return to pre-pandemic levels of service, with 143 girls participating in our core I Can Excel (ICE) program. FSH also encompasses a chapter in Detroit, which offers the same core ICE program. We expanded our services to offer a 12-week pilot program called Winter Dreams, which introduced 21 girls to the organization and the sport of figure skating. In addition, FSH celebrated its 25th anniversary and developed a new initiative called Pipeline to Power that will serve our 1,500 alumnae through career and college preparation and support.
