Education programs for the community, immunization campaigns, research, and implementation of health care programs for rural areas stand out among other projects. Community oriented programs include: a. awarness day campaigns, Fidec joins national and international campaigns to promote diseases prevention through periodic checkups and immunization. B. binational health week activities to promote flu vaccination in latin american consulates of argentina, colombia, ecuador, guatemala, honduras, mexico, and peru, jointly carried out by Fidec and walgreens pharmacy. C.tda occupational health program that delivers health care services for employees of tda (tierras de armenia), by providing initial and periodic medical evaluations, management of acute and chronic issues, including surgical and therapeutic treatment in hospitals, health care services provided at work site, as well as provision of prescribed medication for employees. D.the shirak health pilot project, aims to provide free medical services to the rural population in order to address the most prevalent health conditions. E. miami-dade immunization coalition aims at increase vaccination rates, identify barriers, overcome issues, and exchange experiences among Fidec, the department of infectious diseases of the university of miami, and representatives from governmental and private organizations. F. first 1,000 days of nutrition for a healthy life, aimed to promote adecuate nutrition for babies from conception to 2 years of age, carried out in an underserved community in argentina. G. radio broadcasting to raise awarness on the importance of vaccination, especially against influenza, by promoting vaccination and providing information about available vaccines. H. salesforce training program helps young people with potential to thrive in computing to learn how to use the leading customer relationship management plataform in order to increase their chances to access quality jobs. Health care professionals oriented programs include: a. Influenza vaccination strategies and virtual training for healtcare professionals. B. online health education (stamboulian talks): free online conferences presented by expert speakers targeted to health care professionals on latest developments on common diseases and healthcare topics. C.working groups on vaccines for adolescents and adults, travel medicine, herpes zoster, pneumococcal disease, and meningococcal disease. D. forum of latin american experts on influenza, organized by Fidec to analyze regional barrier to vaccination and to discuss strategies to increase flu vaccination rates.
