Program areas at Fhi 360
Hiv/aids - fhi360 provides state-of-the-art, customizedinterventions to address local needs and advocates forcompassionate and resourced support to national governments andlocal communities. Programs and services are designed to changebehavior, protect Health, promote prevention services, buildstrong Health systems, improve access to treatment and care,prevent mother to child hiv transmission, protect and supportvulnerable children and monitor and evaluate programs. In additionto research, fhi360 has provided nearly 4 million people withcounseling and testing services, and almost 1 million people withantiretroviral therapy globally.
Global Health, nutrition, and development - fhi360's global healthand nutrition porgrams work to strengthen Health systems,particularly in resource constrained settings. These programs helpprevent and manage communicable diseases and reduce neglectedtropical diseases. The organization develops strategies forpreventing and managing chronic disease, integrating Health areaswhich produce efficiencies, and building consumer demand forevidence-based Health products and services. The role of nutritionin preventing disease and improving Health is continuallyevaluated and advocated. During fy20, clinical trial activities were also performed for antiviral agents to treat the covid-19 infection for patients in hospital.
Social, environmental, and economic development - fhi360's socialprograms engage youth as partners in development and agents forchange. Gender equality is fostered between boys and girlsbeginning in early childhood and promotes gender equity toeducation and work, which reduces gender-based violence. Fhi360promotes community solutions for protecting natural resources andencourages sustainable agriculture and land use practices. Theeconomic development programs cultivate entrepreneurshipindeveloping countries through micro-enterprise and micro-financeprograms, which strengthens livelihood for the most-at-riskhouseholds.
