Provided food and shelter to 136 Family members. Food and shelter expenses decreased 41% from the prior year. The expenses/grants were paid directly to motels. Three meals, including one hot meal, were provided to the families each day from a combination of volunteer congregations and distributed food cards.
Provided case management services to the families that were provided shelter or rental assistance. The case management services assist families to graduate into housing and become self sufficient by: (1) finding housing by introducing them to landlords or available housing units; (2) finding employment or other sources of income by building a resume and learning how to interview; (3) learning and understanding basic financial literacy and household budgeting; (4) understanding the keys to being a good tenant so that a landlord prefers them as a potential tenant; and (5) finding third party child care and alternative options to fund child care.
Provided rental assistance to 9 Family members. Rental assistance expenses decreased 52% from the prior year. Rental assistance was provided to families facing eviction or just entering rental housing. The expenses/grants were paid directly to landlords and property managers.
