Program areas at Family Healing Center

The Center conducted forensic exams and mdic interviews. There were also visits to the Center for therapy. These victims of sexual assault or domestic violence received safe, loving & compassionate care during the year. If necessary, victims received no-cost forensic medical exams performed by a for-profit company with an examination room in the Center. The forensic company contracts directly with law enforcement agencies to cover the cost of the exams to provide them evidence of a crime. This benefits victims by allowing them to receive services at one place and avoid waiting in a public medical facility to be examined. This benefits law enforcement agencies by avoiding long wait times at a public medical facility for the victim to be seen. At the Center, law enforcement officers have a dedicated space to work, with internet access and refreshments, while waiting for the victim to receive care.a conference room is provided for law enforcement to observe the forensic interview displayed on a large screen monitor and captured on video. Law enforcement officers are able to interact with the interviewer as the interview takes place.new clothing is provided to victims if their clothing is needed for evidence. Fleece blankets donated by volunteers from fresno christian schools were given to victims who needed comfort. Stuffed animals donated by volunteers were also given to Children. Forensic interviews were provided by trained, compassionate professionals.therapeutic/mental health interventions are available for Children and families at no cost.civil legal support services are available to victims at no cost.
