Program areas at Families4familiesdmv
In 2023, families4families (f4f) collected and delivered 211,555 meals, which amounts to over 2,100 families or over 8,000 individuals, served one weeks worth of groceries. F4f volunteers collected a carefully curated grocery list, known as a bag of basics. This list included fresh produce, dairy products, various sandwich meats, pasta, rice, cereals, and other foods on which families can sustain themselves. Beyond the robust groceries, f4f volunteers regularly included personalized notes and extra additions that were seasonally themed. This included, but was not limited to, valentines, backpacks, hats, gloves, toiletries, and thanksgiving turkeys as well as pies. F4f is proud to say we were able to mobilize thousands of students across the country to address food insecurity in a hands on and thoughtful manner in 2023.
