Program areas at Fairfield Education and Community Association

Fairfield school scholarship fund - to provide scholarships for higher Education of students from the Fairfield school district. Gifts to feca for the scholarship fund are maintained as restricted and disbursed annually as needs dictate to the Fairfield school district, which assembles a scholarship committee for the selection process. Original scholarship funds were transferred from auxiliary accounts at the school district to feca in order to better facilitate Community giving and awareness and to maintain proper separation from school district funds. During the 2022-23 school year, the district awarded or renewed dozens scholarships for local students to help further their Education. Total awards funded through feca $37,950.
Fairfield food pantry: we are very proud of the Fairfield food pantry. A member of the Montana food bank network, our pantry regularly serves about 30-40 families in our local area. We have five volunteers who give an average of 20 hours each to serve in our program, plus numerous Community volunteers who help with food drives and other donations. The food pantry is located in space provided without charge by our local Community hall (Fairfield Community civic & recreation, inc.) and is open every thursday from 4-6pm.this fiscal year, we distributed an average of 1715 pounds per month. Average households visiting the pantry were 30 per month. More senior citizens are using the food pantry, growing from an average of 7 per month to 15.
FAIRFIELD SWIM DAYS is a three-day fundraising event held in July. This year, we raised $33,545 to help offset the cost of maintenance, operation and upgrades to the Fairfield swimming pool. Spearheading the event is a volunteer committee of 10 community members who meet monthly throughout the year, plus over 100 individuals who volunteer and the businesses and individuals who contribute monetary donations and sponsor activities. This one major fundraising event provides a safe place for children and families in a community of 700, surrounded by many more living on farms and ranches throughout the bench to enjoy swimming in the Fairfield pool during the summer. SWIM DAY ACTIVITIES INCLUDE: PIE AND ICE CREAM SOCIAL, SILENT AND LIVE AUCTIONS, GOLF TOURNAMENT, FAMILY POOL PARTY, PARADE, LIVE MUSIC, TRIATHLON, CHILDREN'S GAMES, CORNHOLE TOURNAMENT, AND MORE!
