The Lexington childrens Museum welcomed over 40,000 visitors to our Museum last year - a 60% increase over fy 22! In addition, we reached another 10,000 children and adults in our community through outreach programming!lexington Children's Museum camps offered over 150 children steam based camps focused on us railway experience, time travel, cave tour, and more! Children engage in steam and humanities activities as they learn through play! The Lexington Children's Museum was honored to receive funding to support camp scholarships for children from families that are up to 180% of the poverty level. Scholarships range from $25 - $300 per week.the Lexington Children's Museum welcomed over 5,000 children and educators to our floors for field trips in 2023! Children from across Kentucky came to the Lexington childrens Museum to build on their in-class curriculum and experience a learning through play field trip experience. This includes over 1,500 children who visited from title i schools who received over $3,000 in discounts.through a cdbg grant from the city, the Lexington Children's Museum interacted and supported over 350 children with steam based activities and hands-on programming. Program participants include children enrolled at fayette county schools promise academies - william wells brown and harrison - and children served by local non-profit partners - greenhouse 17, arbor youth services, and the salvation army. Activities included working with coding robots, creating squishy circuits, sound trumpets and more!
