Essex County Greenbelt Association

In 2022, Greenbelt completed 33 conservation projects that permanently protected 426 acres. We managed the more than 230 greenbelt-owned reservations; completed dozens of property improvement projects, and formally monitored 254 conservation easements on 7,971.22 acres. We held 40 in-person events,including hikes/walks, a family nature series, art in the barn, a film & lecture series, workshops and community events, 2 trail runs, and a bike event with a combined participation of more than 1,900 people. More than 246 volunteers assisted us, and we welcomed over 289 new members and almost 1,891 returning members.
