Program areas at Epilepsy Foundation of Wisconsin
Epilepsy awareness: efw holds weekly online seminars entitles "virtual meet ups". The topics range from health and safety topics to "life hacks" to diet and exercise. All are delivered by some of the top medical and certified professionals in the us. These meet ups are free to anyone that registers.
Direct client services : in a typical year efw holds three types of in person events that benefit our clients and the community. 1) support groups : these in person meetings are moderated by efw staff and allow members of the community to meet and build relationships around their shared Epilepsy journeys. 2) kids camp : for one week each year adolescents from accross the state are able to come together at the lion's camp in rosholt Wisconsin and enjoy a "typical" summer camp experience that is often not possible because of their Epilepsy under other conditions. 3) adult retreat : efw conducts a full weekend of activities for our adult clients to build a sense of community and fellowship with others. The efw staff builds the agenda and facilitates all of the activities during this fun filled weekend.
Community services : in typical calendar year, efw achieves over 300,000 individual interactions or touches within the state of Wisconsin. Via our website and connection with the efw website, individuals throughout Wisconsin have 24/7 access to the latest medical and treatment information, safety and training materials as well as online seminars and educational offerings.
