Program areas at Engage Africa
Through our grants, about 75 children were ministered to weekly through church services. Bible and life-skills training was held with a group of about 25 teenagers weekly. Of those teenagers, about 10 of them also committed to more intensive training in how to teach children monthly. These 10 are also leaders for the weekly children's services. Two training workshops were held to teach 153 local volunteers how to teach children. With the help of a team of American student athletes, we funded a sports camp, teaching 171 children both sports skills and life skills. This team also brought children's vitamins to support 31 families, prenatal vitamins to support 17 mothers, handmade blankets to support 42 babies, and handmade dresses to support 87 little girls. During 2021, we were able to help fund the excavation, foundation, walls, and roof for a home for orphaned and abandoned babies and young children.
