Elkin Valley Trails Association

Evta advanced its mission to build, maintain, and promote sustainable Trails that connect people to nature, history, and each other- while supporting regional economic development through outdoor recreation. Evta made significant progress on the Elkin creek headwaters preserve through the development of a master plan, laying the groundwork for a multiuse trail system designed to protect the watershed and expand public access to outdoor spaces. The organization logged over 2,800 volunteer hours, hosted public workdays, hikes, and partnered with other organizations and businesses to align conservation and recreation goals. A major highlight of the year was the completion of the grassy creek dam mural, a vibrant public art installation that enhances the trail experience. These efforts support rural revitalization, increase access to outdoor recreation and continue to position Elkin as a hub for trail-connected experiences.
