Program areas at Guidelight

International Program (formerly called "Reach") -- This program serves families of people with disabilities around the world directly through training and mobilization efforts. Guidelight provides disability-related training, offers support to families affected by disability, runs a sports-based disability program, and works in local special needs orphanages. Guidelight also comes alongside workers in other countries including Taiwan to serve a population of those experiencing disability in their outreaches. Through 2021, the Reach Program had its base of operations in Ukraine. While ministry in Ukraine continues under national leadership, the base of operations transitioned to Slovenia in 2022.
Training Program (formerly called "Recruit") -- Guidelight provides training and resources to encourage churches, individuals and other organizations to get involved in disability ministry. Recruit efforts in 2022 included Connect events with local pastors and participation in other meetings and events. Over 500 individuals utilized Guidelight's online training for disability ministry in 2022.
Retreat Program -- Guidelight provides retreats for families of people with disabilities. These retreats are provided for the families free of charge. The retreats offer refreshment and biblical encouragement for families of those experiencing disability. A balanced schedule of workshops and activities for the family, as well as for each individual, provides a refreshing and fun environment for the whole family. Retreats are hosted in partnership with local churches to serve as an outreach into the special needs community to compliment a church's existing disability ministry, or as a launch for a new disability ministry. Partnerships with like-minded organizations, individuals, and churches continue to provide powerfully restorative and transformative retreats to families affected by disability. In 2022, Guidelight hosted 1 virtual retreat and 2 in-person retreats. 30 families were served through retreat offerings in 2022.
