Program areas at Nourishing Hands Child Care
Under our Young Adult Independent living program, we were able to place and support 20 young adults and children who were homeless. The expenses included rent for six locations to house these individuals. Other expenses included utilities, maintenance, food, clothing and transportation costs that were for direct support for our participants. We also taught them important life skills that they were able to leave with them as they enter in a more independent position.
Work Training Program: Program objective and goal is to provide work training and skills to participants in the program. We have trained about 50 plus homeless youth and young adults in learning customer service skills, retail store management and apparel design. We assist with Resumes ,bus passes and job placement. We also have an outreach program in which we donate free clothing to the those in need in the community.
Under our Child Care Services, (Nourishing Hands Child Care), we provided free and subsidized child care services for 7 low income parents who otherwise would not be able to afford essential childcare services. These services allow for parents to work or attend school or training. We received grants that were used for payroll for our childcare workers and also for personal protective equipment, healthy meals, cleaning and sanitation supplies, rent and utilities and transportation assistance.
This category is for administrative expenses for all three programs such as transportation, depreciation, accounting, and general expenses for overall agency.
