Program areas at Ecumenical Center for Religion and Health

Clinical: the Ecumenical Center offers counseling and mental health services provided by licensed professional psychologists, counselors and clinical social workers, and is assisted by a team of peer support specialists to provide services. The Center accepts many insurances and has grants available to assist with services for adolescents, children, victims of crime and military personnel and their families. The Center offers multiple therapeutic modalities at numerous locations around south and central Texas including: emdr (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) for ptsd and trauma; play and art therapy for children, music and neurologic music therapy and neurofeedback for add/adhd. Wellness workshops in the expressive therapeutic arts provide group sessions in visual arts, therapeutic rhythms and poetry and prose writing.
Outreach: the Ecumenical Center collaborates with a variety of community organizations in south and central Texas to provide counseling and mental health services in an equitable and inclusive way, in neighborhoods and communities, stretching from bexar and uvalde counties, up through the Texas hill country, through nueces county and stretching down to laredo and the rio grande valley. The Center provides therapeutic care and educational opportunities, crisis intervention, community trainings and healing through the expressive therapeutic arts to provide traditional and unique opportunities for healing throughout south and central Texas.
Education: the Ecumenical Center has a long history of providing educational workshops and seminars for licensed professional counselors, social workers, medical professionals and business professionals. Parenting classes are also provided, to assist parents in utilizing successful techniques demonstrated by the Center's play therapists. Clinical pastoral education training for clergy, chaplains and lay professionals is provided in san antonio, laredo and the rio grande valley.
