Program areas at Economic Opportunity Agency of Washington County

Headstart & children services - early childhood education programs and supportive services were provided for chldren ages 6 weeks to 5 years old. Eoa personnel assisted 351 infants and children obtain immunizations, medical or dental care and provided 351 infants and children with age-appropriate social, emotional, and developmental activities to develop school readiness skills.
Social services - human services programs designed to foster an improvement in the quality of life for low-income children and families in northwest Arkansas. Social services assisted 12,000 children and adults through the following programs: safecare, emergency food assistance (commodities), rental assistance, water utility assistance, and the marshallese individual development account (ida) program.
Home energy assistance - assistance with heating and cooling costs were provided to elderly persons, people with disabilities and people with low income, to avoid service disruptions that can negatively affect health. A total of 3,241 low-income households were assisted with emergency and non-emergency energy assistance during the winter and summer programs.
