Energy efficiency programs: a. Care income-qualified home weatherization - providing low to mid-income residents home energy efficiency improvements of up to $5000 per home. 35 homes completed in 2023. B. Green business program with approximately 30 participating businesses.
Community engagement:a). Green grant program- eap received funds to administer this program to fund captial projects for residents, businesses, non-profits and governments that deliver mesasurable greenhouse gas reductions in telluride.b). Composte, recycling, trash, and waste reduction- managment of volunteers at waste stations, vendor support, attendee engagement and reporting on waste diversion at festivals and events in the region.c). Composting programs- feasibility, grant and operational expertise support for implementation of regional composting.d). Student engagement programming, working with students with hands on climate and sustainability education.
Sneffels energy board- coordination of government, utility and other stakeholders across san miguel,ouray and san juan counties to collaborate on reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Accomplishments include:d) developing regional sustainability (climate) action plan and tracking progress toward goals,programs and projects across the region.e). Tracking, calculating, analzying and reporting on regional community-level greenhouse gas emissions, energy use, and water consumption annually since 2010.f). Exploring feasibility of regional collaboration and funding opportunities to implement programs across rural, diverse regions
Sustainability education, outreach and resource organization for the greater community,for all governments, businesses and non-profits, and residents. Eap provides expertise,consulting,and information across the region.
