Program areas at Eastside Community Development Fund
5 year plan to address homelessness : ecdf worked with the kcrha implementation board, elected officials, and local non-profits to identify best practice strategies that should be in the five-year plan to address homelessness. Ecdf then worked with the implementation board where we drafted amendments to the plan that supported the needs of east king county.
Mental health & addiction support mapping and convening: ecdf met with multiple Eastside city staff, and many local non-profits to map out and understand the gaps and challenges in the mental health and addiction supportive services systems in east king county. We then convened a group of providers and identified the need for a substance use disorder credentialed degree program on the Eastside. Ecdf then worked lake Washington tech to add this degree program.
By name list data improvement project: ecdf worked with kcrha, Eastside city staff, elected officials, and local non-profits to identify best practices to implement a by-name-list and shared database for service providers and cities to use to gain a comprehensive understanding of the needs of people experiencing homelessness. Ecdf has then started advocating for the adoption of a pilot project in east king county to achieve this goal.
Rent restricted affordable housing access improvement project: ecdf has met with city staff, arch staff, non-profit providers, and property managers to explore ways to improve access to the rent restricted units that arch monitors in east king county. Shelter & resource app project: ecdf has explored multiple ways to create and launch a shelter and resource app that can help people in need, and the wider public, more effectively and efficiently connected to needed shelter and supportive resources.
