Program areas at East Brunswick Baseball League

Since 1977, the East Brunswick Baseball League has helped to promote positive outcomes by providing youth athletes the opportunity to learn and play the game of Baseball in an enjoyable, positive and team-oriented environment. The League welcomes players of all skill and experience levels. The overall coaching philosophy focuses both on attaining individual improvement through practice and hard work, as well as fostering a team-first mentality. The League's 2016 year was very successful. Over 440 boys participated in both recreation and travel competition throughout the spring, summer and fall. Additionally, the League initiated a new professionally-run training program in order to enhance the efforts of the volunteer coaches in teaching the proper skills and techniques at all age levels. Because of these factors and other league-wide improvements, there was a very high level of excitement and energy surrounding the program.
The League's "buddy" Baseball program is a special League for children and adults with all types of disabilities. The program's goal is for all kids to enjoy the great game of Baseball no matter what challenges they may have. We match players (buddies) with "pals". Pals are teenagers that help the kids play the game. Friendships between players are formed as well as lasting bonds between buddies and pals. Buddy ball was established in 1992 and is still going strong. In 2002 we had the honor of playing on the south lawn of the whitehouse for president george w. bush. All players must be 5 yrs old and have special needs. One of the things that make our program unique is you can never age out of our program . In 2016, over 40 buddies and 40 pals participated.
The physical, social and psychological benefits to girls of team sport participation are well-documented. Since 1977, the League's softball program has helped to promote these positive outcomes by providing young athletes the opportunity to learn and play the game of softball in an enjoyable, positive and team-oriented environment. The League welcomes players of all skill and experience levels. The overall coaching philosophy focuses both on attaining individual improvement through practice and hard work, as well as fostering a team-first mentality. The 2016 season was the most successful for the leauge in more than a decade with a large group of competitive girls participating in both recreation and travel competition throughout the spring, summer and fall. Additionally, the League initiated a new professionally-run training program in order to enhance the efforts of the volunteer coaches in teaching the proper skills and techniques at all age levels. Because of these factors and other league-wide improvements, there was a very high level of excitement and energy surrounding the softball program. Without a doubt, the tradition of a strong softball program is alive and well in East Brunswick, nj. The leaugue intends to keep up the positive momentum.
