Program areas at Duval County Farm Bureau
We participted in the Ag-Venture program held at the fair. With the help of other local agencies, we were able to offer a hands on program designed to teach students about the importance of agriculture. There were multiple commodity stations set up to help them understand where our food comes from and how agriculture impacts our everyday lives. By participating in this program we are able to work for the betterment of agriculture.
Farm City Week is a celebration and recognition of the partnerships between rural and urban communities that make our food supply safe and plentiful. This event helps recognize the interdependency between rural and urban communities and the need for both to work together to continue to maintain our American way of life.
Food Check-Out is a way to celebrate American food and a bridge to National Nutrition Month in March. Members and 4H along with Nutrition Agents from the extension office reached out to consumers in their communities with tips on how consumers can stretch their grocery dollars with healthy, nutritious food. This program allows the public to become knowledgeable about good food choices while supporting local agriculture.
