2021 has been a challenging year of holding tightly to the importance of our mission and ensuring that we safely meet the needs of all students and staff. For many reasons, DAEC did see a drop in both GED and ESL student numbers in 2020 and 2021. And not unlike most organizations, saw a shifting in staff and the inability to fill some positions as quickly as we would have liked. Throughout the past two challenging years, DAEC students continued to meet or exceed all educational goals as set by state and federal grant standards. DAEC has continued to fill positions with highly qualified and excellent staff, and numbers continue to climb back towards pre-pandemic levels in 2022. In 2022, DAEC is celebrating 35 years of service to students and community in the "Four-Corners" region of southwest Colorado. Through excellent programs, a qualified and dedicated staff and Board of Directors, prudent and careful budgeting and financial practices, DAEC will continue to ensure that these important programs thrive for the next 35 years.
