Downtown Wytheville Iincorporated

Downtown Wytheville was chosen 1 of 10 communites across the nation to represent va and work directly with main street america and google as part of the grow with google initiative. The program is an effort to reach rural storefront businesses and teach them how to use the google suite of tools to help their respective business remain sustainable, bolster their online footprint, and stay up to date on all the new google tools and analytics. All this is an effort to assist true small businesses which are the backbone of local communities across the nation. Additional funding from Virginia main street was secured for this project.

Downtwon Wytheville initiated a partnership with the vt landscape and architecture school to assist in developing a Downtown greenspace pocket partk. These 3rd year students will be using this project as part of their semester coure work. We have received some grant funding to assist in marking this project a reality once we receive and decide on final designs.

Our annual july 4th celebration and street fesitval continues to be the biggest single day event in the history of Wytheville. The event attracted over 12,000 people to the heart of the community for this family fun filled day of celebration. We had 11 total bands on the day at various business locations with the 3 headliners on the main stage, kids parade, kids activities and initiated our dora abc license to open carry throughout the event.
