Program areas at Domestic Violence Shelter and Services
Our Shelter Program provides a residential setting, offering an array of support services and assistance with necessities (food, medication, personal supplies, clothing, and other related needs.) In FY 2022/2023, shelter was provided for 113 adults and 92 children.In addition to our Shelter Program, overall Support Services include 24-hour crisis intervention, advocacy, material assistance, counseling, criminal justice system support, individualized goal and safety planning, children's programs, and support/education groups. In FY 2022/2023 DVSS provided support services for 1,365 adults and 118 children. (Unduplicated)To help prevent the occurrence of domestic violence and to make the public aware of the resources available to victims and their families, DVSS provides an array of Prevention/Outreach Programs, including community education programs and events, in-service training programs for professionals, school programs (Hands are not for Hitting, Words are not for Hurting, Shifting Boundaries, STARS, and others), and the EVOLVE initiative, focusing on primary prevention initiatives. In FY 22/23, DVSS provided/ participated in 578 Prevention/ outreach initiatives with over 9,552 persons in attendance.
