Real estate development- during the fall of 2018, Develop Detroit purchased controlling interest in the university meadows apartments, a 53-unit low-income, senior citizen rental housing community. University meadows is located in Detroit's historic woodbridge neighborhood. Thedevelopment plan for university meadows includes the renovation of the exisitng building and the addition of newly constructed retail spaceand mixed income apartments. The final development will serve as an anchor to subsequent incremental housing and retail investments in thearea. Renovations and new construction began in 2019 and is expected to be completed in 2020.real estate development during october 2019, Develop Detroit earned an acquisition fee from the sale and start of development activities foruniversity meadows 1.
