Detroit Country Day School was founded in 1914 by f. alden shaw to offer a superior education in a wholesome environment removed from the bustle of city life. For over 100 years Country Day has remained true to the concept of nurturing a well-balanced and informed young mind along with a hardy, well disciplined, and healthy body. Detroit Country Day School is an independent, coeducational, non-denominational, college preparatory School for pre-kindergarten through grade 12. The School houses over 1,450 students between its four birmingham/bloomfield, Michigan campuses.the Detroit Country Day School utilized both remote and on-site learning during the covid pandemic. Extra ppe supplies were purchased along with pertinent technology for both teachers and students. Once full time on-site learning was attained, testing was required to return to the campuses, and masks and daily temperature checks were required of all students and employees throughout the School year. The custodial staff was increased by utilizing the bus drivers to help with the cleaning, serving lunches, and other duties as required.
