Program areas at Seattle Design Festival
Design in public created the eighth annual Seattle Design Festival in september 2018 to offer the public an opportunity to better understand Design and how it adds value to our lives, our city, and our region. The 2018 Festival was a collaboration among 145 nonprofit partners that created an ambitious set of offerings: 90 events, including tours, films, speakers, exhibits, installations, and family programs- all aimed at a public audience.
Design in public hosted the displaced: Design for inclusive cities international Design ideas competition, calling upon designers to apply power of Design thinking to need to welcome, support and empower urban immigrants and refugees. Winners were awarded prizes and a public gallery exhibition.
