Defreestville Fire Department

The Defreetsville Fire Department (DFD) responds to fire, rescue, emergency medical and other calls for service. DFD emergency medical technicians and certified first responders treat patients. The membership volunteers hours at these alarms, hours at weekly departmental training and additional hours at training outside of weekly drills. Other hours are logged in non-fire or training duty such as fire prevention efforts, parades, station work details and fund raising. In 2022 DFD responded to 497 emergency calls and provided nearly 10,000 hours of volunteer service to the community.
