Program areas at DVNHA
Support for Death Valley National ParkDVNHA continues to support recovery and restoration work at Scotty's Castle. Support for the park's Dark Sky Festival. DVNHA partnered with NPS for repairs to park exhibits, shade structures, and continues to provide access to National Public Radio to the park. DVNHA also funded a living history and exhibit project called "Women of Change". DVNHA sold 240,924 educational items and provided 8,469 visitor contact hours in Death Valley National Park.
Educational ProgramingDVNHA's Death Valley R.O.C.K.S. kid's education program provided 22 transportation grants for 563 students (most from Title 1 Schools) for 4,504 hour of education in Death Valley National Park and 1,084 educational hours in virtual class visits. The Death Valley Institute provided 10 in park education programs and 2 online programs. We had 183 participants and provided 1,202 education hours on a number of topics including Desert Hiking, Desert Ecology, Wildflowers, Geology, Pioneer History, and Southwestern Literature.
Support for Ash Meadows National Wildlife RefugeDVNHA sold 7,004 educational items provided 1,856 visitor contact hours. We also support Jr. Refuge Ranger Day and 416 volunteer hours for a Biologist at Ash Meadows National Wildlife Refuge.
