Program areas at Dancers Group
Fiscal SponsorshipDancers' Group worked with and supported 102 San Francisco Bay Area based choreographers, dance companies, and community dance projects through our fiscal sponsorship program, which provided them with much needed administrative and financial oversight, as well as mentorship. Dancers' Group met virtually with the leaders of our sponsored projects and communicated via email and by phone about the many shifts and changes to work and activities due to covid. We continued to support each projects fundraising activity and ensured funding agencies and contributors that donations and grants received on behalf of the artists/projects were well-managed and funds were disbursed according to the grant proposal and their guidelines.
Artist ServicesDue to covid, Dancers' Group did not present any public activities in 2022. Artist Services also included the CA$H Dance Regranting Program that awarded $120,000 in grants to 14 individual Artists and 10 Organizations ($5,0000 each), featuring dance forms such as waacking, locking, Cuban, Mexican, Iranian, Japanese American Obon folk dance, Zimbabwean, African diasporic dances, krump, hip hop, El Salvadoran, Afro-Peruvian, butoh, contemporary flamenco, and more.
