Cycle Oregon

Promote bicyce tourism - organize fully-supported bicycle tours that showcase rural Oregon communities and geography. In 2022 we hosted 4 events throughout Oregon, bringing over 1,000 people to experience the painted hills area of central Oregon on our classic event, 500 people to the Oregon coast for our gravel event, 600 people to the willamette valley for our weekender event and 500 women to independence on our joyride event. Starting in 2022, Cycle Oregon assumed the managment of the Oregon scenic bikeway program, the only of its kind in the nation, to establish and promote premier cycling routes benefitting Oregon communities.continued on schedule o strategically invest in rural Oregon - Cycle Oregon advised the Oregon community foundation Cycle Oregon fund to award 14 grants totalling $127,708 in 2022. Projects ranged from library improvements to bipoc mentorship programs to building a community space.

Advocate for safety and infrastructure - in partnership with odot and alta planning and design, a rural based safe routes to school curriculum and program was developed (jump start). This 'train the trainer' program was launched in three school districts in rural Oregon utilizing written, structured teaching curriculum and Cycle Oregon provided equipment (bikes, trailers, helmets etc.) To use while teaching the program.
