Culver Palms Meals on Wheels

Culver Palms Meals on Wheels (CPMOW) provides daily meal delivery services five days a week to individuals confined to their homes due to illness, injury, or age who cannot shop or cook for themselves. Meals are also available for clients requiring weekend support. Clients can choose between frozen or hot meals based on their preferences. During the 2023/2024 fiscal year, CPMOW delivered 33,009 meals, of which the organization fully subsidized 12,858a 33% increase from the 2022/2023 fiscal year. Additionally, recognizing the growing need to assist homebound seniors with limited financial resources, CPMOW partially subsidized 9,215 meals, marking a 27% increase from the previous year.Our dedicated volunteers are crucial in delivering these meals, using their vehicles, fuel, and insurance. Five groups of individuals with disabilities also assist with meal deliveries. Volunteers contributed approximately 10,674 service hours, supporting our part-time staff in operating this essential program. This year, CPMOW served and benefited over 230 individuals.In addition to meals, CPMOW delivered over 212 emergency food packages and distributed more than 1,110 packages of fresh fruits and vegetables to participants. We also provided approximately 828 donated gifts for birthdays, holidays, and special occasions to both participants and volunteers.Our Wellness Call program, operated by volunteers, continues to expand as we connect with more individuals through weekly supportive phone calls, helping alleviate feelings of isolation and loneliness.
