Program areas at Cultivating Community

Cultivating Community works at the intersection of food, land, and racial justice with four complementary programs that help meet the needs of our community as we organize for systems change. We lead:- The New American Sustainable Agriculture Project's two community learning farms and marketing program which provides land access, support, and approx. $230,000 worth of culturally important locally grown food to the community for free or reduced price while leveraging State and Federal benefits to ensure farm viability for program graduates- 11 Community Gardens and an urban orchards with 450+ gardeners with priority given to limited-resource households - Youth Leadership internship opportunities with enriching empowering hands-on experiences for 50 high school students annually- Outdoor garden education programs available to every Portland public elementary school student
