Program areas at Culinary Angels
In 2024,Culinary Angelsprovided4,810 nutritious mealsto cancer patients and their caregivers. These meals includedregular, vegetarian, broth, and soup options, ensuring recipients had access to carefully crafted meals tailored to their unique dietary needs during treatment.To meet increasing demand,we optimized our volunteer operations, improving efficiency in meal preparation and delivery across key service areas, includingPleasanton, Livermore, Dublin, Danville, San Ramon, and Walnut Creek. On average, we deliveredapproximately 400 meals per month, with a peak of572 meals in October.Program Expansion & Community Impact:Served 178 recipients and 184 caregiversover the year.Broadened accessibility by increasing meal pickups, allowing more recipients from neighboring cities to benefit.Diverse meal options ensured accommodations for dietary preferences and health conditions.Demographic Outreach & Inclusivity:Majority of recipients were seniors (ages 62+), with over 43% reporting an annual income below $35,000.Ethnic diversity included recipients identifying as White, Black, Asian, Hispanic, and Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander.Key referral sourcesincluded hospitals, cancer support organizations, and family/friend recommendations.Through strong community partnerships and dedicated volunteers,Culinary Angels continues to provide vital nutritional support, ensuring that those facing cancer receive not only meals but also a sense of care, dignity, and compassion throughout their journey.
