Program areas at Coxhealth Foundation

The largest program was facility support as the Coxhealth Foundation completed the campaign for the new cox monett hospital, assisting the health system in opening a new critical access hospital to serve the people of barry and lawrence counties. While most states are seeing rural hospitals close, Coxhealth opened a new facility to improve access and quality of care. Additionally, the Coxhealth Foundation raised funds for the total renovation of the cox college simulation lab. This project was to assist in the college's growth and efforts to educate and graduate a larger number of health professionals/nurses for our region and state to fill staff shortages that impact patient care.
The third largest program was our patient services. This represents direct financial support for patient care including monthly grants for inpatient care, medications, travel assistance, special needs support for items like mastectomy supplies, nutritional supplements, meal vouchers while receiving care, breast pumps, prevention screenings, free colonoscopies, lifeline services for the elderly, support for hospice patients, rehab care for trauma and cardiac patients, support for stroke care and more.
The second largest program was our grant program. The Coxhealth Foundation took on the responsibility of helping Coxhealth to recover funds lost during the course of the covid-19 pandemic, in addition to writing grants to improve quality, grow and enhance patient care and services. While not all the funds listed reflect the total funds received (Coxhealth directly received the fema funds) it does reflect the funds that were directed to the Foundation for projects, programs and services.
