Program areas at Cornell Hillel
Israel programs:cornell Hillel believes that every jewish student should experience israel through a multifaceted lens, on the ground, and in person. Cornell Hillel builds relationships which allow for greater impact on campus by lowering barriers to access, creating a shared language, and sparking curiosity and creativity. In the past year, Cornell Hillel engaged students through israel-engagement events, including, but not limited to, a kindle club, meet-and-greets, and organizing a full start-up nation fair.
Religious life/holidays:campus celebrations of weekly shabbat services, meals and programs, including shabbat across Cornell. This program service also includes high holidays, sukkot, chanukah, purim and passover celebrations.
Educational programs:cornell Hillel's main educational program is the jewish learning fellowship. This is a 10-week fellowship where students learn about a number of different contemporary issues, all through a jewish lens. Taught by jewish educators on staff, this fellowship is designed to resonate with students from diverse backgrounds in order to foster a safe environment to learn from and challenge each other.
