Program areas at Corey C Griffin Charitable Foundation
Following Corey's tragic passing on august 16th, 2014, the Griffin family and close friends founded the Corey C. Griffin Charitable Foundation. Given his incredible passion for life and uncommon dedication to philanthropy, it was not difficult to map out the guiding principles of the Foundation: improving the lives of primarily boston-area children through strategic partnerships with the city's leading educational and healthcare institutions, with an emphasis on faith-based initiatives. We believe that every child should have the opportunity to succeed, irrespective of their financial or health circumstances.the Corey house at boston children's hospital:the Corey C. Griffin Foundation partnered with boston children's hospital to purchase patient family housing in response to the ever-growing need for 'extended stay' family housing. With funding from the Corey C. Griffin Foundation, the facility will serve patients' families who are forced away from the comfort of their homes for long periods of time. To provide much-needed comfort, the home is designed to offer guests a warm and welcoming environment during the duration of their child's treatment.corey's kids:the Corey C. Griffin Foundation is focused on making strategic investments to improve the lives and opportunities for youth - whether it be through supporting the families of pediatric patients at the Corey Griffin house or in juvenile mental health programming, providing scholarships to students, or sending youth from underserved communities to leadership and character-building programs, these initiatives touch the lives of "corey's kids" at crucial times in their lives. The Foundation partners with community leaders, leading businesses, and nonprofits. Together, we are making a difference by investing in children's futures and well-being through our "corey's kids" programming. We focus on access to high quality education, supporting character development, and providing access to comprehensive and holistic health care. The Foundation believes changing the trajectory of a child's life will make profound impact to not only their lives as adults, but society as a whole. Our model of experiential philanthropy creates opportunities to deeply engage in our work to impact children. For the years ended december 31, 2022 and 2021, the Foundation awarded $807,250 and $682,550, respectively, in Charitable grants to other Charitable organizations as part of this initiative. In addition, to further Corey's kids programming, time and direct relief funding are spent in addition to grant awards.
